Licensed Professional Counselor

Kristan Williams, LPC

Hi, I’m Kristan Williams. I have over a decade of dedicated experience in providing therapy to individuals of all ages.

In each individual’s life, there are challenges and hardships that occur.  These difficult moments may lead to a variety of negative emotions that impair daily functioning and have a damaging impact on significant aspects of your life.  Please know that you do not have to face these struggles alone.  One of the most difficult steps to take is reaching out and seeking help.

As your therapist, I will always strive to maintain a supportive and nonjudgemental environment where you will feel heard and cared for.  I will provide endless support and will challenge you when it is necessary to do so.  Through challenges is when we see our greatest moments of growth.  I truly feel privileged each time an individual is willing to share their story with me and I believe that each individual has the ability to achieve healing despite their life experiences.

My Professional Background

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with the state of Arkansas.  I attended the University of Oklahoma where I received my Master of Human Relations degree with a focus on clinical counseling.  I have spent the past 11 years providing mental health services in various clinical settings including therapeutic day treatment for children and adolescents, behavioral health hospitals, and outpatient services.

I have completed training in evidenced-based therapeutic approaches such as trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and child-parent psychotherapy (CPP).  TF-CBT is utilized for ages 3 to 18 and is designed to assist children and adolescents in overcoming the negative effects of traumatic experiences that they have encountered.  CPP is used for young children from birth to age 5 and their parents or caregivers.  This approach focuses on helping parents and children understand one another better while processing difficult experiences, feelings, and behaviors.  I have also completed the Postpartum International Support training in perinatal mental health and am passionate about assisting birthing individuals throughout the perinatal period.
