Counseling Intern

Blake Pesestky, Intern

Hi, I am Blake Pesetsky. I am married to my “college sweetheart,” Gabby, and we have a beautiful boy named Shepherd, whom we think the world of. I enjoy traveling with my family, having good conversations with friends, and fly fishing with my dad.

I completed my undergrad at Ozark Christian College in 2018, where I majored in biblical studies. I have been serving as a college-age pastor for over 6 years here in Fort Smith. I am currently a graduate student at Southern Arkansas University, studying to obtain my Master's in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling. I provide therapy for individuals, couples, and families, helping them navigate life's challenges and work together toward healing.

I am also trained in Level 1 Gottman Method Couples Counseling, which enhances my ability to support couples in building strong, healthy relationships.

My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that emotional well-being is the key to navigating life's complexities, building meaningful relationships, and finding joy and purpose. I understand that many individuals and families face challenges, and therapy can be a transformative tool in their journey. As a therapist, I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their emotions and work toward their emotional well-being.

I work with clients to address emotional and behavioral issues, fostering emotional regulation, secure attachments, self-awareness, and a sense of purpose. By helping clients process trauma and reshape old attachment patterns, I assist them in developing healthier interactions with the world. This includes promoting assertiveness and mindfulness and enhancing skills for nurturing relationships and effective parenting.

Together, we’ll explore how to manage life's ups and downs, helping you move from feeling stuck to thriving.
