Cheyenne Parker, LAC, TA

  • Licensed Associate Counselor
  • Technology Assistant

Hi, I’m Cheyenne. I am a Licensed Associate Counselor with the state of Arkansas and am currently in pursuit of gaining my full Licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I enjoy working with a variety of clients that range from children to adults.

Life can be full of hardships and abrupt changes. This can bring a multitude of challenging emotions and behaviors that can begin to impede on our daily functioning.

As a caring and empathetic therapist, my goal is to meet you where you are in your journey and assist you in finding the best course of action for growth, healthy change and healing.

Though life can be difficult for each of us, I believe our personal experiences are unique to us and deserve a safe and accepting place to process these experiences. A place to be heard, seen, and to learn the necessary tools we may need to reach our full potential and return to our highest daily functioning.

My approach to counseling is based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with techniques and concepts pulled from other therapeutic approaches such as Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). These therapeutic approaches focus on challenging unhealthy cognitive patterns, exploring healthy forms of coping with difficult emotions, exploring solutions to problems and fostering a sense of hope.

My Educational Background

I received a Bachelor of Art in Psychology from Henderson State University. Upon completion of my undergraduate degree, I stayed at Henderson State University and obtained a Master of Science in Developmental Therapy. Post graduate school, for one year, I worked as Developmental Therapist with children from ages 0-3 and their parents helping them learn to reach developmental milestones. This was a rewarding experience but I felt I wanted to do more and make a larger impact with others.

Based on my personal life experiences and a desire to work with and help other, I chose to return to school and pursue a degree in counseling. This is when I received a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health and Marriage and Family Therapy from John Brown University.

I have a passion for helping others and a desire to see others succeed and overcome. As your therapist, I will meet you where you are and walk alongside you as you work through the hardships you may face. I will support you, challenge you, cheer for you, and work to educate you and provide resources so that you are reaching your identified goals for treatment and reaching your full potential.
